One Stop Shop 2019

Saturday, December 7, 2019 -The Detroit Partnership (DP), a student-run nonprofit at the University of Michigan, and the Redford Aldersgate United Methodist Church - Brightmoor Campus are expanding their efforts to give away appliance, toys, health insurance assistance, food and clothing at the twelfth annual One Stop Shop event. The event, held in the Brightmoor community, is open to all who have a need.

This highly anticipated major events program is the culmination of a massive fundraising effort by The Detroit Partnership’s Planning Team — we were able to raise over $2,100 for hundreds of families in Detroit.

One Stop Shop is open to all in need; there is no admission fee or any family living situation restrictions. The clients are paired with a personal shopper and are encouraged to shop for whatever appliances, toys or clothes they need this holiday season. Before they leave, each client is given a grocery bag of food. In addition to the shopping opportunity, local Brightmoor social service organizations will be present to provide information and other resources in the community.

Planning Team had over 40 members volunteer at the One Stop Shop event and act as personal shoppers for over 200 families.
